New immersive surround sound system using technology developed in Cleveland by Frank Foti.
The series opens with a really special host: Steely Dan producer Gary Katz, who helmed the recording of Aja, which won the Grammy for Best Engineered Recording—Non-Classical. (He also produced Steely’s Dan’s other 1970s albums.) He won’t be hosting virtually either; Katz will be coming into Cleveland for the event.
Cleveland’s Frank Foti, the executive chairman of audio manufacturing company Telos Alliance and former studio engineer at WMMS.
Foti’s state-of-the-art sound system can, perhaps, be best described as surround sound on steroids.
It will be powered by Deja Vu, software developed by Frank Foti, once the chief engineer at Cleveland rock giant WMMS-FM 100.7 and now the executive chairman of Cleveland-based company Telos Alliance. Deja Vu takes a stereo signal and, in real-time, converts it to a 5.1 sound-sound mix.Read More
